The Kingdom of Lanna was established some 700 years ago. Since then, its food culture has been slowly developed into what is known as the Northern Thai cuisine today. Join us on the 4 hours cultural walk of the old city of the "new city" aka "Chiang Mai" that not only let you experience the historical and architectural charms of Chiang Mai but also get you soaked into its gastronomy treasures.
On this not-so-typical tour, we will first start by wandering through the old city's charming old markets to learn specifically about ingredients and spices used for Northern Thai cooking. Then, we will start our way to taste various Northern Thai cuisines prepared some of the best local chefs in town, such as the best Northern sausage, the best Northern curry noodle, and the best Northern chili dips. Along the way, we will also visit some magnificent temples as you might even have a chance chat with Buddhist monks to learn from them about Buddhism in general and there daily life in particular. By doing this tour early on your visit to Northern Thailand, you will feel more confident to enjoy the tastes and smells this region has to offer.

Tickets cannot be refunded as your space is guaranteed on the tour once purchased. Refund is, therefore, not allowed for no shows, or late arrivals and each tour is scheduled to depart on time. However, reschedule is possible in case your new requested tour is still available.

The tour is approximately 3.5 hours of walking with many stops. We walk at a very leisurely pace. At each tasting location, you can take a break as all almost all of our tasting locations are seated. The walking distance is no more than 2 kilometers.
Yes, restrooms are available at every food-tasting location during the tour.
Tours are held rain or shine. We also provide ponchos in case of sudden weather changes and you do not have your own umbrella. We only cancel our tour in an unlikely event of extreme bad weather. In that case, we will try our best to reschedule your tour or refund.
Definitely. Cameras (and videos) are allowed and encouraged during the tour.
To stay on schedule and continue with the informative tour and food tastings in a timely manner, we ask that you please wait to shop until after the tour. You can allow time at the end of the tour to return to your favorite stores located in the map provided. Our guide can also help you with directions to them.
Yes, currently, our tour is only conducted in English.
The maximum number of people per tour guide is 8. If one tour is sold out there is a very good chance we will offer another that same day.
Sorry…due to the various food establishments we visit, pets are not allowed on the tour.
No, it does not. However, detailed instructions are provided after ticket purchase with starting and ending point locations. Both are very close to MRT stations.
